01 What we build

Six hardscape
disciplines. One crew.

Every build starts with engineered base prep — a compacted 8–12" gravel foundation with proper drainage and geogrid where slopes demand it. Beautiful work fails without it; that's where contractors cut corners and we don't.

06 Frequently asked

Answers before
you ask.

The questions we get at almost every site visit. Have one that isn't here? Call us at (860) 841-2290 — we answer the phone.

Q · 01
How long does a paver patio last?

Properly installed on a compacted base with polymeric sand, 30+ years. The failure mode is almost always base preparation — which is why we over-engineer ours.

Q · 02
Do I need a permit?

Walls over 4 feet and any structure connected to the house typically require one. We handle permits and inspections as part of the build — no homework for you.

Q · 03
Pavers or stamped concrete?

Pavers every time. Concrete cracks with freeze-thaw cycles in CT; pavers flex independently. Replacing a single damaged paver takes 20 minutes; concrete repairs show forever.

Q · 04
Can you match an existing patio?

Usually yes — Nicolock and Techo-Bloc keep color runs available for years. If a line is discontinued, we can blend a compatible color or do a complementary accent.

Q · 05
What about drainage?

Every patio is pitched at minimum 1/8" per foot away from structures. We add catch basins, French drains, or channel drains where the grade requires it.

Q · 06
When is the best season to build?

April through November. The ground needs to thaw for proper base compaction. We book the spring season starting in December — early planners get priority dates.
